Information on Eagles Nest Asbestos Spill
Lake County Public Health Agency was made aware of a large asbestos spill at Eagle's Nest Apartments on August 10, 2022. There has been construction on the outside of the complex taking place since April and it is unknown the amount of exposure that may have occurred, if any, to the residents. The City and County are in communication with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and Eagle's Nest Apartments Management company to ensure a mitigation plan is in place and implemented in a timely manner.
We have many residents who have health-related questions to this event, and we are recommending they contact their Primary Care Provider who is familiar with their health history. We are unable to answer those questions at Public Health.
