Seasonal COVID-19 Vaccines
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized newly updated formulations of COVID-19 vaccines made by Pfizer and Moderna. These newly updated vaccines protect against the COVID-19 variants anticipated to most likely circulate during the 2023-24 respiratory virus season. Pending Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) approval, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) expects these seasonal vaccines to become available in Colorado before the end of September.
The previous versions of the COVID-19 vaccines are no longer authorized for use in the United States. If you had an upcoming vaccine appointment, contact your provider about rescheduling so you can receive the newly updated vaccine instead.
