Fire Suppression & Prevention

Structure Fire Suppression Program

The purpose of LLCFR's Structure Fire Suppression Program is to protect life and property from structure fire while ensuring, to the highest possible degree, firefighter safety. Coordination of this program is through team effort by all the Department's shift captains.

LLCFR's Fire Prevention Program is to lead the organization's efforts in fulfilling that portion of its mission which pertains to reducing the community's fire risk, and to increase firefighter safety, through community education and effective code enforcement.

Wildland Suppression Program

The purpose of LLCFR's wildland program is to protect life and property from wildfires while ensuring, to the highest possible degree, community and firefighter safety and, whenever possible, educating the community of wildfire risks. This program also oversees the national deployment of the wildfire team. This team can be mobilized locally, within the state and nationally. All members of the fire department are nationally qualified, annually.

This program is coordinated by Captain Dave McCann and firefighter Bo Knickman.
